Your Cedar Rapids dental team is here to tell you that there are indeed benefits to these products, and we’re proud to announce that our dentists are now able to provide facial rejuvenation to our patients.
Botox has become a trusted and proven treatment for migraines, as well as bruxism (teeth grinding) and other TMJ symptoms. Both Botox® and XEOMIN® contain the same active ingredient- botulinum toxin type A – which works by blocking the neuromuscular signals at the injection site, resulting in those muscles relaxing. These same injectables can also be used to relax areas with fine lines, wrinkles, or frown lines.
We also offer Juvederm®, which is sometimes referred to as a “dermal filler.” Juvederm is slightly different as it contains hyaluronic acid – the same ingredient you see advertised in cosmetic commercials – which your body creates naturally. The injections plump the collagen in the skin, adding a subtle fullness that can smooth out unwanted wrinkles and fine lines. It is also highly effective in lifting the corners of the mouth and replacing soft-tissue volume loss due to oral health issues or facial trauma.
